Ein allgemeiner Begriff für Notenblätter (normalerweise in der Form eines Büchleins), der eine kurze Chorarbeit enthält. Dieser Ausdruck kommt von der Tatsache, dass die meisten populärsten und liturgischen Chorwerke auf dem Oktav-Papier gedruckt werden (etwa 7 Zoll mal 10 3/4 Zoll). Diese Noten enthalten in der Regel alle Vokalstimmen mit Klavierbegleitung. Im Falle von A-cappella-Musik oder Musik, die von einem anderen Ensemble begleitet wird, wo keine Klavierbegleitung erforderlich ist, wird der Octavo oft die Klavierbegleitung zu Probenzwecken enthalten. |
