Ulteriori informazioni / contenuti	Heute ist Georg Friedrich Haendel (1685 in Halle, Deutschland, geboren und 1759 in London gestorben) mehr für seine Oratorien bekannt besonders seinen 'Messias', als für seine 40 Opern, die er während den ebenso zahlreichen Jahren seines Aufenthaltes in London komponierte. Zu Lebzeiten war sein Ruhm viel grösser als jener seines zeitgenossen J.S. Bach. Heute ist es umgekehrt. Bach's universales Genie hat Haendel etwas ungerecht in den Schatten vertrieben, denke man an seinen bemerkenswerten Beitrag als Musikdramaturge. Diese Suite besteht aus 4 Tänzen und einer kleinen Fuge, die aus verschiedenen Werken für Tasteninstrumente entnommen worden sind. Die Sätze können beliebig in andere Folgen gesetzt oder weggelassen werden. Georg Friedrich Handel, (b. 1685 in Halle, Germany d. 1759 in London) is known today more for his oratorios especially 'The Messiah' than for the more than 40 operas which he composed in nearly as many years for the London theater while living there. During his lifetime he was far more famous than his contemporary J.S. Bach but posterity has allowed the extraordinary genius of Bach to overshadow (somewhat unjustly) Handel's equally remarkable contributions in music, in particular as a music dramatist. This Suite which consists of 4 dances and a short Fughetta have been collected from various keyboard works. The movements can be mixed, matched or omitted to suite performance needs. De nos jours, Georg Friedrich Haendel (né en 1685 à Halle en Allemagne et mort à Londres en 1759) est presque plus connu pour ses oratorios, en particulier 'Le Messie ', que pour ses 40 opéras qu'il a composé en presque autant d'années qu'à duré son séjour à Londres. De son vivant sa célébrité était bien plus grande que celle de son contemporain J.S. Bach dont l'extraordinaire génie allait toutefois prendre sa revanche dans la perspective historique, parfois même un peu injustement par rapport à la remarquable contribution de Haendel, en particulier dans ses oeuvres lyriques. Cette Suite est constituée de 4 danses et d'une petite fugue extraites de diverses oeuvres pour claviers.
