Ulteriori informazioni / contenuti	Mit meinem guten Freund und Mentor Richard Lane habe ich zahlreiche Rezitals gegeben und er hat mir vieles gelernt, im musikalischen wie auch menschlischen Bereich. Richard Lane hat dieses Nocturne für ein Konzertprogramm geschrieben, das wir in den Jahren 1995 gespielt und dann im Nord-Osten der Vereinigten-Staaten öfters wieder aufgeführt haben. Obwohl er selbst dieses Instrument nicht spielte, war die Bratsche sein Lieblingsinstrument dem er zahlreiche Werke gewidmet hat: drei Sonaten und über zwanzig Kammermusikwerke, sowie das Pflichtstück des William Primrose Wettbewerbs von 1991. Der herbstlich lyrische Stil Richard Lane's entspricht perfekt dem Charakter der Bratsche und in diesem etwa 5 Minuten dauernden Nocturne gelingt es ihm, Farb- und Tonumfang des Instrumentes voll zur Geltung zu bringen und gleichzeitig ein intensives, emotionales Ereignis hervor zu zaubern, das dem Zuhörer in starker Erinnerung bleibt. Es gibt sicherlich viele kurze Stücke im Bratschen-Repertoire, dieses Nocturne ist aber so unvergesslich, dass ich es immer wieder gerne spiele. Die Bratsche kann damit bestens brillieren. Richard Lane wrote this Nocturne for us to play somewhere around 1995, and we subsequently performed it many times in recital in the northeastern United States. Although not a viola player himself, the viola was Richard Lane's favorite string instrument, and he wrote many works for it - including three viola sonatas, more than twenty pieces of chamber music, and the competition piece for the 1991 William Primrose Competition. Richard Lane's lyrical autumnal style fits perfectly with the viola's character, and in this approximately five-minute Nocturne, he manages to cover the full spectrum of the viola's colors and range, while creating an emotional experience for the audience surely to be among the most memorable of any recital. There are many lyrical short pieces in the viola's repertoire, but this Nocturne is one that I keep coming back to. It allows the viola to bask in the best light possible. Le style lyrique automnal de Richard Lane convient parfaitement au caractère de l'alto et dans ce Nocturne d'environ 5 minutes, il parvient à couvrir toutes les ressources de couleurs et de tessiture de l'instrument, tout en créant un événement émotionel d'une intensité exceptionnelle, mémorable au niveau du répertoire de récital. Il existe de nombreuses pièces brèves dans le répertoire de l'alto, mais ce Nocturne en est une qui incite à y revenir. Elle permet à l'alto de s'exprimer dans les meilleures conditions possibles.
